BLUSSH, Brisbane’s unholy trinity plastering a 90’s grunge, punk ferocity with the tongue & cheek that’ll pull you in and spit you out.
The trio’s shared love of musical influences, HOLE, L7, Babes In Toyland & The Distillers set them to revive this lost sound. 2019 garnered BLUSSH’s reputation as a live band not for the faint of heart; raw, reckless and wildly unhinged. Their DIY ethos launched them into a relentless crusade of live gigs, a debut E.P “Shut Up Becky!,” video release “Mental Health” and a national tour, landing top 30 in 4ZZZ 2019 countdown and gaining industry praise from punk-pioneer Vivian Goldman during her BIGSOUND Keynote, BLUSSH noted “Critical to the local punk movement.” Playing alongside comrades Dicklord, Press Club, Beddy Rays, The Deadlove, The Meanies, WHALEHOUSE, Garlic Nun, KOKO UZI, Being Jane Lane, Flangipanis and Wax Chattels, and landing festival slots at Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Gr!fest and Sonic Masala, BLUSSH firmly planted both feet and middle fingers on the scene. Navigating a challenging 2020, the band failed to slow down, with June release “Better Than This”, propelling them to covid-safe stages and landing commercial and local radio rotations. Their latest single “Incoming” is set to launch the band on a QLD Tour with BFF’S WHALEHOUSE and local friends. BLUSSH celebrates the “Incoming” single release on November 20th, alongside an animated video clip and a QLD tour as a collective sign off and loving kiss of death to 2020.
