By now the Jungle Love have crew shown time and time again that they know how to throw a damn good party and they also love any excuse to do it. The main event of the year is Jungle Love Music and Arts Festival which is taking place for the fourth time ever from November 30 to December 2 at Borumba Deer Park. So to build the excitement our team is taking over The Zoo and Winn Lane in Fortitude Valley on October 14 for the Jungle Love Launch Party: The Zoo and Winn Lane Takeover.
The Jungle Love community has a knack for making every night together a night to remember. Last year’s launch party was held at The Triffid, featuring an outdoor electronic stage. Organisers were advised by venue staff that people wouldn’t dance on as they’ve never had any luck getting a dance floor happening outside before. But alas the venue staff were proved wrong. The Jungle Lovers proceeded to fill the entirety of the dance floor, making for one of those many delicious nights to remember.
This year’s launch will feature seven stellar live acts including one of Bigsound’s most talked about artists, Clea , a special reformation of the much loved insane asylum LeSuits who split up two years ago, rising stars and recent Triple J Unearthed winners Fight Ibis and some of the finest craftsmen of indie pop, The Jensens . Two acts making their way up from Melbourne for the special occasion are the soulful Squidgenini and one of the most hilarious performers around, Stingray .
Winn Lane will be pumping all night with a selection of sounds curated by the fine tastemakers A Love Supreme who will be mixing up the soul, funk and much, much more. The Winn Lane stage will feature the likes of ALS Soundsystem , Deejay Bossman , Nathan Sellin & Jaeden Birch and El Discotheque .
Punters will be able move between the two spaces via the backstage access from the Zoo to Winn Lane. So punters who haven’t been backstage at the Zoo before will have the chance to see the plethora of stickers and layers of history left behind by iconic bands that have played at the venue over the past 20 years.
And not to forget that it wouldn’t be a Jungle Love party without an array of live performance art and the odd surprise in store.
