Fresh off the back of an incredible US Tour, salty-faced and Brisbane-based, surf rockers Shag Rock have been making waves since being plucked out of obscurity by ex-Powderfinger guitarist turned producer Ian Haug.
Shag Rock have had a big year after selling out shows in Brisbane, racking up thousands of views on their Shagazine web-isodes and more than a million streams on Spotify. The lads show no signs of slowing down with a few fire singles set to be released next year. It’s all happening. Crowds are filling, beers are emptying.
Four friends from all corners of Brisbane who take elements of psychedelia, prog-rock, grunge, add their own dreamy touch and combine this colourful concoction into some kind of euphoric, cosmic, story-telling monster. Birthed in Brisbane in 2011 they’ve been gracing stages, festivals and dive bars all across Queensland, sharing the stage with the likes of WAAX, Ocean Alley and The Drones.
